After one and a half years turnover positive once againNeuchâtel, 24.11.2016 (FSO) – Industrial production in the secondary sector rose by 1.1% in 3rd quarter 2016 in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier. Turnover also rose by 1.1%. Orders received increased by 6.6% and orders on hand grew by 2.8%. This is shown by provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). In comparison with the previous year industrial production grew in July by 2.6%, in August by 0.3%, then fell in September (-1.5%). For the whole of 3rd quarter 2016 production increased by 0.4% in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier. Construction production increased by 4.8% in 3rd quarter 2016 in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier. Production rose by 5.7% in building, civil engineering also registered an increase (+8.9%). Lastly, specialized construction activities registered an increase of 3.4% in their production. |

Positive turnover growth
Industrial turnover in July rose by 2.0% in comparison with the previous year, and in August (+0.2%) and fell in September (-0.9%). For the whole of 3rd quarter 2016 in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier, turnover registered an increase of 0.4%.
Construction turnover rose by 4.5% in 3rd quarter 2016 in comparison with the same quarter a year earlier. Turnover rose by 5.8% in building, Civil engineering registered an increase of 8.9%, specialized construction activities an increase of 2.7%.
