Why Stocks and Bonds Do Not Agree

(10/20/21) What are Markets, Interest Rates, and Volatility telling us about the true health of the economy--and your prospects as an investor? Inflation concerns are being inflamed by continuing supply-chain disruptions, and the question remains, 'will this cause higher interest rates, long-term?' Market trends suggest the current rally has legs, and could last into the end of the year. Caveats to this view include what the Fed does with tapering, and how inflation affects corporate earnings. Interest rates, however, have been recently declining in anticipation of Fed tapering. Long-term, economic groth continues to collapse, and this suggests that rates will have to come down to match that level of economic growth.
