(6/5/23) Stock Buyback Blackout: Monetary impact exits market for now; predicted sector rotations fueled markets to three standard deviations above 50-DMA; prepare for pullback! OPEC Production cuts spike oil prices; Headline Employment Report beats expectations...again. What will the Fed do next week? Very large Birth/Death ratio adjustment; BLS vs Household Surveys: Number of self-employed declines. Cannot have recession without higher unemployment (interestingly, almost all jobs created were part-time.) The Fed wants higher unemployment; next meeting next week: Will the Fed Hike or Hold rates? Depending upon tighter bank lending rules to curb spending, slow inflation; markets have begun to price-in another rate hike. The Fed doesn't need to cut rates. Re-Funding the Treasury General Account (TGA): Where's the money going? What is the risk to equity markets? Money Market Funds own short-term Treasuries.
