| (3/28/23) "We talk about minimum wage..these minimum wages jobs that about 3-million people have in the country, and then need a living wage; a wage that will allow them to maintain a living standard. First problem is, if you're working a minimum wage job your entire life, there's a problem that is not part of the employment situation. Second thing is, though, what is that living standard? Is the living standard now a $2,500-a-month apartment, a $1,000 car note, and a $2,000 phone? Is that the living standard? What have we put into the economy as a base that says this is a requirement: You've got to have this in order to have a "basic" living standard? And when we look at that basic living standard, is it a basic function of what do we want vs 'everybody else has a $2,000 iPhone, what can't I have a $2,000 iPhone?' (I don't have a $2,000 iPhone, by the way!) But these are the things that impair us from reaching our [financial] goals."
