Market Seasonality: Welcome to May Stocks | 3 Minutes on Markets & Money [5/2/21]

Beginning of May is the start of the seasonally-weaker months of the year; market seasonality is in full effect; markets have not gone anywhere, remaining range-bound over the past several weeks. Upside movement today is very likely, and may trigger buy signal. Prices will have a positive bias over the next several weeks. Note, deviations from long-term means and 50-day and 200-day supports are substantial, and will create some "gravitational pull" to prices. Daily buy signal will correspond to continued weekly buy signal (April's run up was +5%!), but that large deviation suggests a weaker upside moving forward. Be attentive to these shifts, and to your exposure to risk. 10% corrections during the summer are a distinct possibility.
