It will likely be sharp and fast, driven by a shift in expectations, news, or earnings. That kind of move can erase gains quickly before prices stabilize and rebuild. The right approach isn’t to panic or exit entirely. It’s to stay invested but manage risk. Trim positions that have run hard, rebalance back to target weights, and avoid overconcentration in one sector. Taking profits along the way protects capital without missing further upside.
