Dr Marc Faber: There’s Boom amongst the Gloom and Doom

Prospector News Publisher, Michael Fox is joined by Marc Faber Editor and Publisher of the Gloom, Boom and Doom Report. Our discussion was amongst the Gloom and Doom we are seeing in the economy where are the Boom opportunities. Marc points out that we are seeing a economic pivot in Western economies similar to Japan in 1989. At that time the Japanese markets represented 50% of the world’s stock value and it went into a long drawn out decline well into the 200os. The US markets are in a similar state today where they represent 50% of the world's stock value. We discuss if history is about to repeat.

Dr Faber sees plenty of opportunities in beaten up emerging markets going forward. He stated that his gains in 2022 came from places such as Vietnam, Cambodia and Turkey. As economies transition there is always someplace where the capital will flow. He suggests it is a good time to start to diversify away from the US economy and markets which in spite of the gloom of 2022 still remain overpriced. He suggests that the Fed will have to eventually start to print money again and that will present challenges to Western economies
