In the latest poll, 74.8 percent of the Norwegian population says no to EU membership, while 17.2 said they would vote yes in any referendum. 7.9 percent have not decided. Seven out of ten voters of the ruling party do not share the party’s views on the EU and would have voted no in a possible referendum, the poll shows. (source)
In two referendums, one in 1972 and one in 1994 Norwegians voted by 53% and by 52% against the EU membership, since then the highest poll result in favor of a EU membership was 45% in 2007.
It appears that Norway is just another country where leaders are disconnected from the people, but the establishment does everything to win them back. The problem is only that voters are not that stupid as the establishment thinks.
