| Neuchâtel, 6 June 2018 (FSO) – The consumer price index CPI) increased by 0.4% in May 2018 compared with the previous month, reaching 102.1 points (December 2015=100). Inflation was 1.0% compared with the same month of the previous year. These are the results of the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The 0.4% increase compared with the previous month can be explained by several factors including rising prices for petroleum products and fresh fruit. In contrast, prices for medicines have decreased. |

German Text: Die Konsumentenpreise sind im May um 0,4% gestiegen
| Neuchâtel, 6. Juni 2018 (BFS) – Der Landesindex der Konsumentenpreise (LIK) stieg im Mai 2018 im Vergleich zum Vormonat um 0,4% auf 102,1 Punkte (Dezember 2015 = 100). Gegenüber dem Vorjahresmonat betrug die Teuerung 1,0%. Dies geht aus den Zahlen des Bundesamtes für Statistik (BFS) hervor.
Die Zunahme um 0,4% im Vergleich zum Vormonat ist auf verschiedene Faktoren zurückzuführen, unter anderem auf die höheren Preise von Erdölprodukten und frischen Früchten. Die Preise für Medikamente sind hingegen gesunken. |
