The problem with conviction is the issue of recency bias; anything other than that with which we agree is deemed "fake news." What do markets think they know that you do not? When markets do something counter to your convictions, you lose money. Chiefs win the Super Bowl, and bet losers can claim their losses with IRS; convictions should not make us lose perspective; the oxymoron of rising valuations as earnings decline; have earnings fallen enough to accommodate a slowing economic environment?
