The meteoric rise of ride-hailing apps is part of a global transport revolution. Uber, the market leader, is now the world’s most valuable startup.

Around 40m people use the Uber app monthly to summon a car in 450 cities worldwide. Lyft is Uber’s fast-growing rival carpooling accounts for over half of its trips.

Ride-hailing apps are now transforming the logistical fabric of our cities.
