A begging, failed state without any economy or production capabilities is never going to win.

Ukraine is holding the front line of defense for NATO and Europe against Putin's aggression to rebuild the USSR. All the human costs are being paid by Ukrainians.

What an absolutely ridiculous narrative. Man up and admit you lost already.

Hmmmn, so defeat looks like victory. No doubt war looks like peace too.

Like this lady has any clue whats going on. Like any of them do…

This is just a promotion for the larger podcast. Zanny centers Western fatigue in late 2024, without tangling with the massive Russian carbohydrate bonk slated for early 2026. Great. Thanks for nothing. Marathon runners have rough patches. Ukraine's rough patch is right now. Russia will have their own rough patch soon enough, if we don't quit the race prematurely.

Who is this idiot? She clearly has no idea what she's talking about. It's like someone said, 'oh the ukraine war is trending' so she decided to 'go viral'. Hey Economist. Please either send reputable journalists who do ACTUAL stories, or maybe better yet, just stick the economy….

They need to start recruiting women to do defence and send the men to the front and be prepared to lose a lot soldiers

😢This is NONSENSE and WISHFUL thinking. There's NO Victory for Ukraine .

admission that Ukraine cannot win … the West has been pretending Ukraine can win for years 🤦🏽♂️
it’s a pity that this video shows that she believes in this war – how sad 😢
some of us believe that, just like Cuba cannot have missile bases (the USA won’t allow it…) so Ukraine and Georgia cannot join NATO (Russia won’t allow it…)
most Russians don’t hate Ukrainians. Most Ukrainians don’t hate Russians. The continuation of the war is about Zelensky & his team refusing to accept truth … so sad 😞

Biased propaganda posing as news. Ukraine has 40 million citizens, they can wipe Russia out if they want to

How stop kremlin bombs, missles, drones strike to ukrainian population on territory of Ukraine from territory of kremlin? More less 20 millions and 10 millions runaway from Ukraine. But problem for test grounds for weapons of mass destruction all may lead to nuclear strike. Why no body want standing against kremlins drones, bombs, missles, nuclear strike together with Ukrainian population? Forever? Why people in Ukraine holding by force? For Continue genocide? Why nobody can't stop kremlin bombs, drones, missles and maybe even nuclear strike…. In the end. People want live and human rights and conventions and freedom choice.

Dear Economist…why is your publication, it seems to me, pro Russia? Am I mis- reading? You have totally failed, in this report, to highlight the successes of Ukraine…eg the many oil, gas, airport facilities…rockets, other amo ….kaput …the bedding in to Russian territory by Ukrainians…the tens of thousands of Russian POWs..Your failure to mention the continuing and unalloyed support from many European countries, particularly those who have lived under the Russian and German jackboots……."Fatigue is setting in amongst allies" you claim…where exactly is your proof? I acknowledge the US's wobble and some Trump supporting Republicans' influence…but I'm sorry to say that generalisation is a) overall inaccurate and b) very sloppy journalism. This is not the first Economist feature on the subject that I have called out. .Jane Soole, 80 years, Dorset.

I did not listen to all the report, as I was so fed up with the opening lines, so if this was moderated later, I will have another listen. re my comment below.

For almost 3 years a superpower has bonked Ukraine and russia controlls 18% of the land, then she dares to say they are loosing. No Lady, the west is loosing. Mostly because of some finansiel powers, who think they can do bussiness as usual, if just the Ukrainians would let russia keep these 18%. But no, we got to bring russia totally down , we have already seen what conseqences it makes all over the world, to be so pragmatic. My little country is supporting Ukraine with 1,8% of our GDP, if the US did the same, there was no Russia anymore.

Russia will fall and it will be divided into many territories. It is a matter of time.

It probably looks similar to other imaginary fantasies.

If we are to follow the figures, Ukraine would certainly win. A few days ago, DW, a much respected German YT channel, reported that only 31,000 Ukrainian soldier died, while Russia's loss is disproportionately high, at 610,000. Ukraine's chances are further boosted by a new "Victory Plan" revealed only a few days ago by the strategist Zelensky. Ukraine is tactically retreating to give Russia a false sense of hope. In three months, Zelensky would get all the territory back plus Crimea. That is what Zelensky promised.

Need help understanding, American foreign policy. Can someone explain how Ukraine an allie receives what appears budget basement support from America against Russia, but Israel receives 3 tiered Iron Dome, missile friget protection from sea, and 43,000 American troops, standing by, to deal with middle-eastern, threats. Are there plans to provide Ukraine that same level of protection, and threat, capabilty? In terms of economies of scale return on investment, isn't Ukraine the largest grain providing resource, in the world?
