Mainstream media. The inherrent obvious biased coverage from both sides. the weapoisation of the state against political opponents. Its not hard to see for the young. Why cable news and print media is all but dead.

The Chump and his MAGA deliberately erode trust in elections,
because they lose them,
so they seek another path to power

No because the democrats have done everything they could to make it easier to cheat

With low trust in national institutions, democracy is at risk of being lost, paving the way to fascism and dictatorship, which is an opportunity Donald Trump is aiming for. We can see both Trump and Musk calling for a revolution and continually diminishing the trust and causing strife and conflict within the population. Project 2025 is going to completely overhaul the government, exchanging skilled and unbiased public servants with loyalists to Trump. USA may be about to end.

Back in 2014, Vox published an article based on a finding from a Rasmussen poll with the headline, "68% of Americans think elections are rigged."

"I am stating my election forecast in writing here on 30 October 2024, ahead of the election itself on 05 November 2024.
I forecast that Trump wins the election, with 296 electoral votes and hence a margin of victory of 54 votes.
For my margin of error, I forecast that the upper limits as a Trump victory with no more than 317 electoral votes and hence a margin of victory of 96 votes maximum.
For my margin of error, I forecast the lower limits as a Harris victory with 270 electoral votes and hence a margin of victory of 2 votes maximum.
The above prediction will be determined by the consensus of reporting from the New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, and BBC, independently of any claims from Trump (or Harris)."

I trust the results just not the candidates or their supporters.

Neither side will trust the result if their candidate loses.
