Europe is on the verge of a perfect financial storm. The US, however, is trying hard to stay out of Europe’s financial situation.

American interests are taking a new direction as Russia takes a more aggressive stance in the region, particularly in Ukraine. Protecting Europe from Russia is a fundamental US interest. As a result, a new non-NATO alliance is evolving between the US, Poland, Romania, and the Baltic states.
