Unemployment Rate (not seasonally adjusted)Registered unemployment in June 2017 – According to the State Secretariat of Economic Affairs (SECO) surveys, 133’603 unemployed persons were registered at the Regional Employment Centers (RAV) at the end of June 2017, 6’175 less than in the previous month. The unemployment rate thus fell from 3.1% in May 2017 to 3.0% in the reporting month. Compared to the previous month, unemployment fell by 5’524 persons (-4.0%).

Number of unemployed and Job seekersYouth unemployment in June 2017 Youth unemployment (15 to 24 year olds) fell by 848 persons (-5.7%) to 14’108. Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to a decrease of 1’683 persons (-10.7%). Unemployed 50 and more in June 2017 The number of unemployed 50 and more decreased by 1,450 people (-3.8%) to 36’222. Compared to the previous year, this corresponds to a decrease of 253 persons (-0.7%). Job search in June 2017 A total of 196’896 jobseekers were registered, 5’523 less than in the previous month. Compared to the same period of the previous year, this figure fell by 4,235 persons (-2.1%). Reported vacancies in June 2017 The number of vacancies reported to RAV increased by 443 to 12,420. Calculated work in April 2017 In April 2017, 4’020 persons were affected by short-time work, 931 fewer persons (-18.8%) than in the previous month. The number of holdings decreased by 81 units (-15.0%) to 459. The lost working hours decreased by 106’422 (-34.3%) to 203’866 hours. In the corresponding period of the previous year (April 2016), 375,107 hours of waiting had been registered, which had spread to 6,727 persons in 668 companies. Controls in April 2017 According to the provisional figures of the unemployment insurance funds, the number of persons who had exhausted their right to unemployment compensation during the month of April 2017 amounted to 3’249 persons
