Jake Huneycutt

I'm a Portfolio Manager, Investment Author, and Entrepreneur. I founded and managed Huneycutt Capital, a long / short equity and option investment firm that generated 18.2% gross annual returns from November 2009 to June 2014. I significantly outperformed the S&P 500 with superior risk-metrics and developed one of the best track records in the United States. I'm a presently the Editor for the Contrarian Value Newsletter. I am seeking a permanent position in investment that involves portfolio management, strategy, research, or asset allocation. My investment philosophy is "contrarian value", and inspired partly by value investor Walter Schloss. I focused on finding irrationally beaten-down securities ("bust cycles"), while maintaining extra liquidity during inflated markets ("boom cycles"). I'm also an investment author, penning over 100 articles for Seeking Alpha on everything from equity analysis, portfolio management, market history, and macroeconomics. I have a following of over 9,000 readers and my articles have been awarded "Editor's Pick" status for excellence over 30 times. I grew up in East Tennessee in a lower-income, de facto single-parent household. I know how much of a struggle it can be to grow up in that type of environment and that's why I'm very interested in opportunities to provide economic and business education to children and teenagers from disadvantaged backgrounds.
