| The challenge to rebuild from the bottom a democratic Europe, comes in the name of a renewed struggle for social and civil rights that now are currently coming from the “rebel cities” of different countries around the continent. The extraordinary vivacity of the Napolitans movements have highlighted the importance of the relationship between new administrations and social movements at the heart of this new municipalismo.
To discuss this and the next steps of this process, the Mayor of Naples Luigi de Magistris, and the former Minister of finances in Greece Yanis Varoufakis , met in Rome last month of June, in an encounter open to everyone. In nome di una rinnovata battaglia per i diritti sociali e civili, per l’uguaglianza e per l’autonomia, è dalle città ribelli di diversi Paesi che parte la sfida a ricostruire dal basso un’Europa democratica. Ed è particolarmente il rapporto fra nuove amministrazioni e realtà sociali, culturali e di movimento il fulcro del nuovo municipalismo, così come evidenziato dalla straordinaria vivacità dei movimenti napoletani. Per discutere di tutto questo e delle prossime tappe di questo percorso, si incontrano a Roma, al Baobab, in un evento aperto il sindaco di Napoli Luigi de Magistris e l’ex ministro delle finanze greco Yanis Varoufakis. |
