The Gotthard Base Tunnel ten years on

Has the Gotthard Base Tunnel fulfilled expectations, shortening travel times through the Alps and bringing more passengers and freight onto trains? Ten years on, the Gotthard rail tunnel – at 57.1km the longest in the world – has become a cornerstone of freight and passenger transport across the Alps.
